It’s finally here. 2009. (Give and take a month.
) It seems like it took forever to come, but truth be told, I don’t remember much of 2008, it all seems a blur. I think it was like this beginning of last year too. (There! I remembered something!) I remember thinking that the beginning of the year would be hectic, but things would wind down as I looked at the blank spaces in the calendar. Well, I can’t tell you much at the moment how much of those spaces actually got filled up as time went by, but I can tell you it certainly didn’t feel like I went through those empty spaces, haha.
This year I know better. This year I don’t even see the spaces in the calendar. (Is that a bad sign?) But this year is different in one way at least. This year there is a fresh vision. And fresh vision invigorates. Fresh vision revitalizes. Fresh vision brings clarity. Fresh vision fuels and drives. Fresh vision brings focus. It’s time to move forward with a purpose. But pit stops need to be planned and refueling needs to take place. Why? Because vision leaks.
We forget. We drift.
Last year I made a resolution to be intentional. By and large I think I have kept to that however and whenever I can. Definitely it hasn’t been perfect or easy. In addition to being intentional, this year I’m making the resolution to be consistent. It’s a long race ahead and for me, building consistency is going to be the key to endurance. What does that mean for me exactly? No need for me to elaborate here I think. Soon enough you’ll probably hear me talking about the theme of consistency throughout the year as I blog while discovering how to best incorporate consistency into my life.
I’m excited to see what this year brings. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, each day is a gift from God. That’s why they call it the present. There’s no time like present.
